If you join this band wagon to decrease your poor sales results, you need to step up and take conscientiousness for your own fate. It's amazing how often sales teams play the victim here. They blame the marketing department, team or an individual, for their lack of sales.
Don't get me wrong, I'm on your side. Often, in a typical, let's say "traditional" organization, there is extrication connecting marketing and the sales organization. There is a lack of communication, team work and collective goals. Sad but true.
Often, the better the company, the less marketing serves the character sales professional. In corporations, it seems the norm for marketing is to concentrate on promotion "the brand" and not crop and services. Not all, but most, accepted marketing leans on publicity which fails to work candidly for you in attracting new prospects and leads.

Worst, as a commerce owner or detached professional, you don't have a account and you do everything! Again, marketing is absent or not good adequate to engender an adequate amount new opportunities.
The most central and singular point I'm creation is that you must acknowledge and deal with "what is," to build up your situation.
Recently, I twisted 40 years old. A acquaintance said to me, "Don't worry, 40 is the new 30. " If you want to advance sales and your commission, guess what? "Marketing is the new Sales!"
Understand YOU are your own marketing department. Acknowledge it and take action.
Just like the decline (if not extinction) of own assistants, sales administrative assistants and secretaries to assist sales teams or individuals, there is less marketing assistance too. You type your own sales calligraphy and other correspondence and keep your own schedule.
Today, you need to work on your own communal awareness, lead age band and sales aid resources and communications. With tighter budgets, less staff and more responsibility, it's up to you.
